You can store the cache in your system temp folder.  It gets them out of the project folder and therefore out of the way of your vcs.Choose Resharper->Options->General->Store caches in system TEMP ...

I see.  You could follow it with a "Use base type wherever possible" applied to what is now the intermediate class.
