GetSnapshotAndKillChildren is not working for latest 2025 Dotcover CLI version

I am using Dotcover CLI latest version 2024.3.8. I started the process via Dotcover CLI and it is running.
Then if I execute the command GetSnapshotAndKillChildren with Instance name, but its giving “Instance with ID <> not found”
Why am I getting this?

Hello,

Did you use “send” command to execute the command? To concentrate development efforts on the technologies most relevant to the majority of our users, we have removed “send” command in the latest dotcover(2025.2.2). See What's New in dotCover | dotCover Documentation for details. You may still be able to use this command in a previous version. But we would possibly not fix the bug in that version since it's not actively maintained anymore.

Thanks,

Tom

Then please help me how can I acheive the use case like to generate the report by killing the process? We have some background process which will be running at backend and does not have graceful exit.

Hello,

Currently, there is no alternative approach in the latest version. You may continue using the previous version, like 2025.1. If there is error/bug in that version, I would suggest you open a feature request on our issue tracker. Your feedback will help us assess if it's worth the effort to restore support.

Thanks,

Tom

Can you mention the exact latest version where this will work? Tom Luo

The latest version where “send” command is still available is 2025.1.7.
