It's necessary that you see it. Or you can see it later (in a few days
more). Don't worry!

The only new thing that suddenly showed up were tool tips at start-up. Is
that the surprise?
Rob
Yes, it's the surprise. Wasn't it a surprise for you? :)

It would be kind of nice to be able to either turn it off, or access it
whenever it was needed, instead of whenever the program felt it was needed.
It has a lot of useful information. Resharper could use a tutorial of some
kind. Maybe once I understand it better and it's in a final release I'll
build one with little pop-up balloons or something! Or a video.
Yeah! That would be something. That would be hard work to do though. Writing
a full program using all of ReSharper's features to show them off. Like a
demo/interactive video. Would it even be possible? I doubt the folks at
JetBrains would have the time to do it, but I'll bet the ReSharper community
could whip something together over time.

Normally I start VS, and then e.g. read mail while the project is loading. But "ReSharper Tip" appears on top of every other windows, even though VS is minimized.
That is very annoying.
Sincerely
Jens Peter Grosen
It was usefull to get a reminder of all the features that R# has.
But now it is really irritating because:
1- It allways shows the same tip ( CTRLSHIFTN - navigate to file)
2- It is the top most window on Windows
3- I can't close it until R# has finished loading the solution. I can't even
move it around...
Like other people have sugested, the ideal would be to have a Show Tips
option on the menu that would show that dialog.
And on the Tips dialog have a check box with "Don't show me at start up
anymore".
Cheers,
Paulo

Hi!
I agree with all my preposters.
Im addition it would also be nice, to be able to close the Tip Dialog with Escape, as any other dialog.
Cheers, Guido Stinnez
But "ReSharper Tip" appears on top of every other windows, even though VS is
minimized.
We'll try to fix that.

That's quite strange. It should never show the same tip again. Does the last
session of VS terminate normally? Is this effect still reproducable?
We'll probably change that.

This is a bug. Will be fixed.
We'll think about that.
In fact, tips dialog should appear quite rarely. But when it shows up for
the first time people may think that it will be shown on every startup and
will disable it. That's why we don't have such an option.

I always get the Ctrl-Alt-B (ReSharper > Go To > Inheritor) tip everytime I
start devenv. And yes, devenv always terminated properly.

Sometimes I do terminate the process, but even when it's a normal close, on
the next start it still shows the dialog and the same tip.
I just tried it now.

Even so, after reading them all, I would prefer them to never show up again.
So what, I don't use file navigate... Do I need to be remainded constantly
about it?
For some reason it reminds me of Clippy... ;)

I always get the Ctrl-Alt-V tip every time Visual Studio starts.
Adrian
again.
It should not show up if you have read it already. So it cannot remind you
constantly.

In the new build it's starting to show other tips, but I already know about
them, so I would really like it not to shop up.

I mean that when the dialog first showed up, I read all the pages, just to
see if there was anything interesting that I'd missed.
Now I don't want it to show up anymore, please. If I can dismiss Clippy, why
can't I dismiss that dialog?
