Newbie - uninstall problems

Hi,

I am new to VS2005 as have had an initial play with Resharper under
VS2005, but have found it very unstable.

I have tried uninstalled it, but it is still there in VS.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Julian

You can remove it from the add-ins list in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\]]>\AddIns

Or just make sure that the Add-in is not loaded during startup.

One extreme way to remove it to reinstall it first and then remove it. But
first make sure that you cannot select it from the Add/Remove programs.

ReSharper staying in the menu bar is a known issue (from memory I think it's
a bug with VS?). Have a look under Tools --> Add-in manager to see if it's
still there or not.

Curious though, what in particular did you find unstable? And which build
were you using?

I was getting errors on exit and a few other spurious ones.

I've decided to re-install the latest version to give it a bit more of a
try.

Hello Julian,

what do you mean by 'it is still there in VS'? Where exactly can you see it?

After uninstalling all the menu options were still there.

Hello Julian,

this is a known problem that 'ReSharper' menu is left in VS 2005 after ReSharper's
uninstallation.
