Cannot install 254 for VS2003

Hello Ilya,

do you hage VsLangProj installed into GAC and, if yes, what version of it?
Actually nothing
changed in the installer between 253 and 254, so the problem is a bit mysterious.

During installutil procedure it gets FileNotFound exception and
complains that it can't find VsLangProj. Build 253 installs fine.

It's not in GAC, it's in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\Common7\IDE\PublicAssemblies\
Actually, recently I installed VS2005 and then uninstalled it to get more
free space to prepare for transition, you know.  Can it be the case? How
can I fix it?
When 254 fails to install, 253 is gets uninstalled anyway. But then installs
back fine. May be I can get some log or whatever to send you?

Hello Ilya,

please install VsLangProj into GAC manually, then try to re-install 254.
When installing 254,
launch the installer with /V"/lvx log.txt" command-line key. If the installation
fails, please post
the log.txt here.

Not sure what you mean under 'transition' though :) I haven't known that
re-installing applications
reduces the physical space and facilitates long journeys. OK, got it - perhaps
it enables to carry
fewer hard drives, DVDs or other data store stuff :)
