[256] VS 2005 Hotfix wont install
This is my first attempt at installing R# under VS2005.
I get the following error
Cannot install hotfix for Visual Studio 2005. Error code=1603.
Please note that localized versions of Visual Studio 2005 are not
supported by the hotfix.
I browsed the forum but I didn't see this issue so forgive me if this
is a repeat question.

So what version of VS you're running? The hotfix will install on English
version only.

I am using an English version.
Version 8.0.59727.42 (RTM 050727-4200)
I have VS2003 installed as well with R# for 2003.

interesting...
The first time I was trying to install from a mapped drive on the
network. Now I copied the installation package to my local harddrive
and re-ran it. Now it just appears hung for the last 20 mintues or so.
Maybe it will eventually finish. Any ideas?

Hello Steve,
It may be local network code permission issues that caused problems with
hotfix install.
Indeed, several users have reported us that hotfix takes ages to install.
I believe the longest reported time contained non-empty "hours" dimension.

Hello Steve,
if you still experience the problem with installation, could you please run
the installer with '/l' command
line key? You can then send us the log which will be opened in Notepad after
installation in case the latter
completes in reasonable time, or in case the installation is hung you can
locate the log file manually by inspecting
your temp directory. The log file contain timestamps for each message and
will allow us to easily figure out
what takes such a long time.
