[509] SP1 warning on Vista
Hello.
I've just installed Vista Ultimate x64 and Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite
with SP1 and the Vista Update for SP1. Then I would install R# Build
509 but it doesn't recognize that VS SP1 is already installed. Can I
just install R# or is it possible that it failes or doesn't work because
it does not recognize the SP1?
Thanks.
Marco

I also have a desktop running Vista Ultimate x64 and had no problem
installing ReSharper 3.0. I initially installed Visual Studio 2005 Team
Edition for Developers, then Service Pack 1, then the Visual Studio 2005
update for Vista. Finally, I installed ReSharper 3.0 and it worked as
expected.
I doubt it makes any difference, but I'm using 3.0.468.6 on Vista x64. I've
installed 3.0.509.7 on my notebook running Vista Ultimate x32, but I haven't
installed it on my desktop yet.

Hello,
As R# says in its installer warning message, colors can go bad in the text
editor without the SP1, and that's the only concern about the SP missing.
R# does not change its behavior based on the SP1 presence. If you have the
SP1, everything will be OK regardless of the warning messages. Moreover,
R# would work even without SP1, but you'll probably have to keep the “Highlight
identifiers” option turned off due to some visual effects.
