What are experimental hives in the the installer?

What are experimental hives in the the installer and which one to
choose? I think they mean to install different instances of R# but
need more info.

For Visual Studio integrated products, that's just http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb166560.aspx
("Experimental Instance of Visual Studio" topic). R#9, as contrasted to R#8,
can be fully isolated within Visual Studio Experimental Instances.

For our standalone products, it has about the same meaning: allows to install
several products of the same version side-by-side without a conflict.
