Why does R# have such slow performance and what are you doing about it?
I have been using R# for many years and it's always been a performance hog, but this latest version is the worst. I think part of the problem is VS 2010 which is also a resource hog. Regardless, I don't understand why are you are continually pooring new features and functionality into the product when you still haven't fixed the performance problems you have to battling with for the past 6 years.
I feel you should be spending a vast majority of new development on fixing these peformance issues which hang a black cloud over the product.

+1 :-)))
I do agree with you on the subject that R# is a slow, but not so slow that there is a need to shout.

Hello Chris,
First of all please let me apologise for the poor experience you've had with
our product. Please be assured that we are fixing all performance problems
that we're able to identify. There are also known problems (such as editing
large vb.net files) that cannot be fixed that easy. However, we're also doing
our best to fix them in the future. If you're experiencing performance problems,
could you please describe them in more detail or provide some performance
snapshots? This would really help us to identify and eliminate those problems.
Thank you!

I agree,
We need better performance!!!
Give some tips how to disable unwanted features to improve performance...
Thanks
Mikhail
No, not necessarily.
The problem with that is the best features are the ones which are the most resource intensive.
I don't want to have to give up features for performance.
You shouldn't have to ask that of us.
I thought of buying a license or two for my company and have just installed the version 6 after a few months since I tried the beta. It was slow then and it is slow now. I definitely won't be buying it because something is wrong with this software. It has great features but my hard drive and my CPU are going nuts when Resharper kicks in. It is constantly "processing source files" no matter whether I open JS, CSS, Razor view etc.
When I update a Nuget package it goes over each and every file that is being updated with "Processing source files..". Nuget package update that took 5 minutes before takes 15 minutes now.
Definitely way too slow and definitely settings should give an option to disable certain processes.
Actually I'm not updating to v6 because I feel that more features which were add
ed will make it work more slowly than current version. R# is a great tool but sloooow....
Hello Marko,
We've fixed several performance problems related to 'Processing source files',
so you're welcome to try ReSharper 6.1 EAP which starts approximately in
two weeks. Let me know how it goes. Thank you!
