Resharper 6.1 EAP performance unbearable
Hello
I have just uninstalled my trial of R# 6.1 EAP and am now reinstalling R# 5.3. The performance was completely unacceptable: VS took very long to start up, the editor could not follow my typing and opening the various windows took several seconds.
I am using a macbook pro with 8GB ram, 4 cores (I7-2620M @ 2,7 GHZ) and an SSD disc and note that I am booting in windows 7 pro 64 bit and I am NOT using vm-ware or other virtual machines. I would expect this hardware to be more than sufficient, but apparently it is not.
Besides from resharper I have the NuGet pacakge manager, MSpec and PowerCommands forVS2010, GitExtensions and Git SCM provider installed. Once I suspend R# 6.1 my Visual Studio works fine with good perforamcne and it is responsive.
I had hoped to have acceptable performance after having read that 6.1 EAP should address performance issues, but as the sitauation is right now I will not be upgrading to 6.1.
Is there anything I can do to improve performance ?
best regards snielsson

From the download page:
On my PC, the 6.1 EAP performance is significantly better than the 6.0 performance with VS2010 SP1, but it's probably still not quite as fast as v5 was. However, that's just a gut feeling based on a four-month old memory of v5; I don't have any data to back it up.
Hello Stig,
Thank you for feedback! We'd really like to address this problem, but we
need some more information. Could you please describe your solution (how
many projects and classes are there, does it contain any web projects)? How
big (in terms of LOC) are the files you're working with? Also, how much time
exactly does Visual Studio startup take with ReSharper enabled compared to
Visual Studio startup with ReSharper suspended? How big are the lags when
you're typing (seconds, tens of seconds) in a file?
