I'd like to emphasize that the experience was really quite bad. Essentially broken. Why is this issue not immediately rolled back / hotfixed / proactively called out somewhere?

I can confirm that disabling Inlay Hints has resolved the issue. Thank you, I was getting really annoyed. Also, 9 minutes response time is quite impressive.
