Interesting note - if I do a Ctrl+C multiple times (2 or more), and then Ctrl+V, it pastes without the extra lines.

I did the Select - Alt+Enter - Reformat and Cleanup - Full Cleanup... and pasted... and still the same extra lines added.

In the same file. Literally highlight some text, press Ctrl+C, scroll down to another spot in the code, press Ctrl+V. Bango, new lines.
