File structure window - sorting alternatives

Seems like a relatively useful feature addition which should be relatively easy to implement… please could the option be added to sort the ‘File Structure’ window alphabetically, by file position and (ideally) for header files, by public, protected, private?

Also, a single click way of clearing the filter edit control on this window.  Selecting the text and hitting ‘delete’ seems clumsy.

Surely this would be an easy win, assuming this product is under active development?

Hello,

These are the corresponding feature requests, please vote for them: RSRP-125080, RSRP-70093.

Igor, sorry for the duplication,

HOWEVER, I see from your corresponding feature requests that people have been asking for these features for 10 YEARS!  The feature requests seem reasonable, straightforward and doable, so why would you not be customer focussed and implement them?

I use this feature quite a lot but am falling back on CodeMaid ‘Spade’ window to get what should be built into the product I'm actually paying for!  Oh, and I recall that VisualAssist does have the requested feature.  Thanks.

We generally try to prioritize requests based on the number of votes, and these requests are not particularly popular. I agree though that File Structure could use some improvements.

Igor, yes, but I look at the first couple of pages under ReSharper Support | JetBrains  | Community | ReSharper C++ and how many votes does anything get?  I see zeros and 1s.  Maybe people lose interest in your Community if requests, which actually make sense, are ignored for years and they never see progress in the product?

Hi Peter,

Thanks for following up, and it is a fair point!

You are right that vote counts on their own are a weak signal, especially on a forum where most requests only ever collect a handful of votes. We do not prioritize raw votes alone. We also weigh how many customers are affected, how often a request reaches us through support, and how clearly the use case is described.

I cannot promise a timeline, and I would rather not invent one. What I can tell you is that the feedback from this thread, and the customer and usage data attached to these requests, is on record against them. Voting and commenting on the YouTrack issues (not a post on the community forum) continue to be the most straightforward means of ensuring their visibility to the team.
