Error dialog on solution open in VS2015.3 Pro with ReSharper Ultimate 2019.2

I have searched high and low with no results (some 10+ year old posts, but none directly applicable).

Since upgrading from ReSharper 2018 to 2019 in my VS2015.3 Pro, every time I open a solution, I get an error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object.".  This happens on any solution, regardless of complexity and regardless of whether the solution is in source control or the local default VS projects directory.  Dismissing the error does not seem to change behavior, but its obviously not good to leave it this way.

Suspending ReSharper eliminates the problem. If I leave the solution open, suspend, then resume ReSharper, the error message re-appears.  Back-reving my ReSharper to 2018 eliminates the problem.

Any assistance in finding the source of this problem would be helpful.  Thank you.

Hello George,

Thank you for contacting us.

Could you please run Visual Studio with the following command line: 'devenv /ReSharper.LogFile c:\log\resharper.log /ReSharper.LogLevel Verbose', reproduce the issue and send us a corresponding 'resharper_log.txt' file using "Submit a request" form at the top of the page.

Thank you.
