"Read solution model directly from project/solution files" breaks Resharper 2019.2.2 on VS 2019 and VS 2017 with a specific solution.

One of the solution files I use (about 101 project files) breaks with R# 2019.2.2 on VS 2019 (16.3.1 and 16.2.5) and VS 2017 (15.9.16). The main symptom seems to be that the "Scanning assemblies" status appears to finish too quickly (or fail, but I'm not sure where to find the logs for that).

The one workaround I found is unchecking the "Read solution model directly from project/solution files" option. This has the immediate effect of restoring all functionality. I can see scanning assemblies behaving normally, IntelliSense, and navigation start working immediately.

Any idea why this particular solution could be broken? Are there any logs I can use on the machine. Other solutions (smaller ones, but I don't know if that's the reason) seem to work fine without any issues.
