Semicolons and Parenthesis Being Replaced

I am experiencing two issues that I believe may be related.

After typing a line and ending it with a semicolon, pressing return removes the semicolon and eats the linebreak (caret moves left 1 space, semicolon is deleted)

After typing a method name and opening parenthesis, pressing " to start a string literal removes the parenthesis (both parens are deleted, two double quotes are inserted, caret maintains absolute position, is now between quotes)

I think this may be related to autocomplete/intellisense, but am not sure.
