Hybrid Solution Wide Analysis

Hi,

We have a solution with a multiple configurations. Those configurations control both whether a project is loaded and also what NET Framework is loaded. Solution Wide Analysis then generates thousands of errors as it's checking files/code that is not relevant to the current configuration

Solution Wide Analysis seems to ignore whether a project is marked as “Build” in the Configuration Manager.

Is there a way of enabling Solution Wide Analysis but only for those projects that are marked for build in the current configuration?

I feel like ReSharper used to do this but maybe that's just a false memory!

Thanks,

Adam

Hi Adam! Sorry for the delay.

ReSharper definitely should be able to switch between different configurations without false-positive errors.

Could you please add some more details:

  • does the error appear after switching release/debug configuration?
  • or it just always appears in one of the modes?
  • when errors appear, do you see them related to only one configuration or to both?
  • is there any chance that you have a small sample solution which reproduces this issue? screenshots/screencasts also would be useful.
  • what ReSharper and VS versions do you use?

Thanks!
