Have to suspend then resume/clear cache R# 2016.2 multiple times until R# is active AND no errors

Answered

I have a VS solution where when I load it, R# is not active. I can see the wide analysis circle at the bottom right. I have to go through several tries of suspend and resume R# until R# at a random try starts processing files and is active. Then the other problem is I get a lot of errors showing up because of unknown references to assemblies even though the solution (17 projects) compiles just fine. I have to go through several tries of clearing the cache and restarting VS.

This is all after uninstalling R#, rebooting and installing R# 2016.2 RTM.

This is just a big waste of my time and a very annoying release. I am thinking of going back to the earlier rtm release and see if it works better.

I already opened a ticket today when using the RC  and then later I find out the rtm was released.

Any ideas what could be the issue? This happens with some other solutions.

According to https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/RSRP-460370 ticket, the issue has been resolved by disabling and then enabling 3rd party VS extensions.

Hello Abdu,

Sorry to hear that. Do you notice any similar things in solutions where the issue happens?

Please could you run Visual Studio with the following command line: 'devenv /ReSharper.LogFile C:\log\resharper_log.txt /ReSharper.LogLevel Verbose'. After that reproduce the issue and attach the corresponding 'resharper_log.txt' file to the YouTrack ticket you submitted.

Thanks!
