Matt,

you can remove the menu without shortcuts. This was probably due to an installation/de-installation/bug. I encountered the same problem, removed the menu, and it never appeared again (the second menu I mean ;)

Best regards,
Dirk

Hello Dirk,

I tried whiteout but it didn't seem to help ;)
I can't seem to (quickly) find how to remove the annoying menu, how did you
do it?

Use the standard Visual Studio UI customizatoin... Tools --> Customize.
Just drag the menu off the menu bar and throw it away.

Thanks Paul,

It was not quite intuitive. I was looking for a 'Remove Menu' command. There
is one for removing submenu items but not for the menu.

Use the standard Visual Studio UI customizatoin... Tools -->
Customize. Just drag the menu off the menu bar and throw it away.

Hello,

Two ReSharper menu are displayed in the IDE. One does not display
keyboard shortcuts.

That is the unfortunate yet expected consequence of switching to the menu-insertion
scheme we're going to use in the release versions.

You know, there was the EAP builds problem of menus left behind after uninstallation.
Now as the problem is fixed, the new menu will be removed on uninstall. But,
if you've ever installed the “early” 3.0 EAPs, there will be a ghost menu
from those builds that is to be removed manually (or with “reset all settings”
in Devenv).

Please note that the menu without the shortcuts, even though functional,
is no more than an outdated snapshot, and will not see the new items coming
and going with new releases.

Thanks for the tips guys on getting rid of the menu from the VS menu bar. The more annoying problem for me is the duplicate context-menu item i've ended up with. I now have three "Refactor" entries when I right-click in a c# file. Any ideas on how to kill the third one ? :)

Actually, nevermind. i figured it out...in the "Customize" dialog, turn on "Context Menus" you can remove the Resharper entries from there...

Hello PBR,

yes, you can remove the duplicate entries using the 'Customize' dialog. A
simpler but more radical solution would be to reset all settings
using Tools|Import and Export Settings.
