VS2005 duplicate menu items

Hi,

I had an earlier EAP version installed and updated to the Beta just now. However, now I have 2 Resharper menus in VS. Uninstall/Install Resharper doesn't help.
Btw. I noticed this before.. why isn't the Resharper menu removed when I uninstall Resharper. Most of the items are grayed out but it still sits in VS

Any ideas?

Hello Daikoku,

the simplest way to get rid of the obsolete menu item is to use Tools|Import
and Export Settings|Reset All Settings.

This has come up too many times already from your EAP community. What's going to happen when 3.0 hits the streets? Are your entire main community of upgraders all going to get this error? If so, the "simplest way to get rid of the obsolete menu item" would be for your installer to do it.

I had to do a "Reset All Settings" and I lost a whole bunch of other keyboard customisations that I had added :(

Hello James,

the problem mostly happens for those users who have early 3.0 EAP builds
installed. The installer in 2.5 would remove
ReSharper menus, although in theory the problem may happen for 2.5 users.
Unfortunately, there seems to be no
reliable way for installer to remove 2.5 menus.

'Reset All Settings' is a one-time operation. And actually it is possible
to preserve keyboard customization by first
exporting keyboard settings, then resetting all settings, and importing the
saved keyboard settings after that. We're considering
automating this process, but it is not clear if all its stages can be done
programmatically.
