ReSharper 4.5 build 1204 - Beta Candidate

Hi,

It is not a big announcement, but I wanted to share the state. ReSharper
Nightly Build 1204 has been promoted to be Beta Candidate. It means we are
very close to Beta and wanted to hear about any outstanding issues you experience
with ReSharper 4.5 Nightly Builds. We know of some glitches yet to be fixed,
namely some issues with sharing code styles, some icons missing and minor
problems when using ReSharper with various other packages. We are going to
fix those issue on our course for release. Otherwise, we consider build to
be stable enough. Please, let us know if something doesn't work for you,
or if you experience any degradation in functionality or perfromance when
compared to 4.1 release.

Thank you for your participation in Early Access Program! We want to hear
from you :)

Sincerely,
Ilya Ryzhenkov

1204 is great however 1205 is terribly slow, it basically grinds VS 2008 to a halt under Vista.

Hello alastair,

That's dead strange, because between 1204 and 1205 there were no significant
changes, just some code cosmetics. Build 1204 was published manually, and
1205 6 hours later by script, and it was night at that time. And we didn't
find 1205 any slower than 1204 locally. What exactly do you see being slow?
If you reinstall 1204, is it fast again?

Sincerely,
Ilya Ryzhenkov

since build 1185 i noticed a notable decrease of performance while editing VB files. While typing in the editor the cursor often hangs for around a second. This is primary annoying when moving the caret around with the cursor keys. When the cursor hangs i have high CPU load. I assume there is a relation to a bug you fixed in build 1175 where you found a deadlock condition in VB.NET (see http://www.jetbrains.net/devnet/thread/279809?tstart=0). Visual Studio don't hangup anymore but the cursor delay while editing is annoying. In the builds between 1175 and 1185 i don't had these problem.

I'm porting an old VB 6.0 application to .NET. The codebase has around 250.000 lines of code and there are some very big source files (> 15.000 lines of code). Currently i'm working on Windows 7 Beta 64 Bit (which is quite stable for me), but on Windows XP the performance is the same.

Another annoying problem i have with each EAP build i install is, that the syntax coloring is broken. After installing a new EAP build each R# color is displayed with a black background. I have to go to the options dialog, select fonts and colors and close the dialog to reset R#'s color scheme.
