List of known issues for ReSharper 5 EAP for Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2

Is there a list of known issues for ReSharper 5 EAP for Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2? There are several features not working so instead of mentioning them I would like to know whether these are already known?

Maybe we should start compiling this list alltogether if not...

I'm missing QuickFix

* highlight current line does not work
* no quickfix
* navigation by holding <ctrl> key and hovering with mouse does not work

  • Run All tests in solution can find the tests and attempts to run them but never actually does run them.
  • also missing quickfix
  • initial startup on a large-ish solution (40+ projects) is MUCH slower than with the version for VS 2010 Beta 1

I have noticed though that when I create a new project I do get quickfix, quickfix does not work however in a Silverlight 3 project that we migrated from Visual Studio 2008 to 2010. I removed the resharper .user file and cleared the caches but still no quickfix.

This matches to my problem with quickfix. The project not capable of quickfix has been migrated from 2008.
Newly created projects have quickfix enabled.

I can't make either new or migrated projects get a working quickfix.

Alt-Enter is mapped to Resharper.Quickfix, and gets you whatever the suggestions with the giant crayon in the left margin are called, but you don't get anything for green squiggles or things like greyed-out 'usings'.

QuickFix works here on new projects but appears very seldom (I would claim that only "to public / to private etc." is available). For example when usings are missing or undefined class names are used, QuickFix does not appear.

If I type in the name of a control to the xaml editor, ReSharper doesn't
provide support for automatically setting up the namespace (either via quick
fix or a tooltip), when the control is not in the default namespace.  This
is a crucial piece of functionality that saves a massive amount of time. I
hope it's not too far away.

Hello Alexander,

Maybe we should start compiling this list alltogether if not...

I'm missing QuickFix

  • If i try to run the Unit Test via Mouse in the Editor, VS told me that

it can insert a breakpoint or creates breakpoint, depends on running a class
or method

  • File->New Project-> MVC 2 Project -> Many Errors out of the Box, but Compiles

and runs fine.

  • Some Toolstips are not readable, seems overlapping with others

  • Hightlighting Current Line not working

  • No ReSharper Colors in Fonts & Colors

  • Quickfix in unused Usings won't show up

Regards

Albert

Hello,

  • Run All tests in solution can find the tests and attempts to run

them but never actually does run them.

We're currently investigating into this issue. It seems not to be VS 10 specific,
we've seen similar problems in VS 8-9.

  • also missing quickfix

http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/browse/RSRP-128023

  • initial startup on a large-ish solution (40+ projects) is MUCH

slower than with the version for VS 2010 Beta 1

We'll do performance profiling when VS 10 integration is a little bit stabilized.

This is the general problem that Quick Fixes (red light bulbs) are missing.
Namespace import popups are yet another avatar of them. This will be addressed
in the nearest builds.

Code completion via intellisense is behaving really weird. I've tried
checking and unchecking "Case-sensitive prefix matching" but as far as I can
tell it doesn't make much difference.  Even if I type the exact name in the
exact case, ReSharper always completes with the lowercase name; e.g.:

public int Foo { get; set; }

public void Ctor(int foo)
{
    Foo = foo;
}

Even though I type Foo=foo, ReSharper always completes with foo=foo.
ReSharper is also tacking on unnecessary namespaces to enumeration items,
e.g.:

public enum Foo
{
    A = 1,
    B = 2
}

public Foo Foo { get; set; }

I type:

public Ctor(Foo foo)

ReSharper completes it with:

public Ctor(Namespace.Foo foo)

For the time being I'm reverting back to Visual Studio's intellisense. I did
the same thing with ReSharper 4.5 because it's intellisense completion has
never worked nearly as well as Visual Studio's.
