[7.0.6.61]R# mutates my laptop into a radiator

when i'm working on my VB solution CPU load of VS is permanently at 50% .. 90%. The CPU fan is working permanently at full speed and heats my working place. When i disable R# this phenomenon disappears. There are some CPU peaks, for example when i acitvate intellisense or save a file, but most time the CPU load is at normal range. The behavior seems to be VB specific. When i load a C# solution i don't have this problems.

I think the reason is a inteference between the background processing of the VB editor and the background processing of R#. I had such problems since you started to support VB, sometimes more, sometimes less. The current 6.x release has similar problems, but not in that strength. The first three EAP builds of 7.x also did not have this problems.

Klaus

[Edit] While investigating the problem further i noticed that CPU load starts rising when i make changes which results in syntax errors. After eliminating the syntax errors the CPU load decreases to a normal level. Another thing which seems to cause the high CPU load is intellisense and parameter popup. I normally type quite fast so that intellisense and parameter popups did not have a chance to appear. When i stop typing it takes mostly some time (around 10 to 15 seconds) until the popup appears.[End Edit]

Hello Klaus
Thank you for feedback and sorry for delayed response! Could you please gather some performance snapshots (you can find instructions at http://confluence.jetbrains.net/display/ReSharper/ReSharper+Profiling+Instructions)?

sorry for the delay, but i didn't had the chance to work with VS11 Beta for a week. I have just installed the latest build (15). Unfortunately i couldn't work with the same solution but with my current solution i recognize similar CPU peaks (they are not so often, maybe because there are not so much errors in it). Nevertheless i took a snapshot while editing my code. I have created an issue (http://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/RSRP-294526).

What i have noticed was that Visual Studio was painfully slow while under dotTrace control.

Klaus
