I hate Resharper

I tried this nice product but it was a disaster !!! it is a great idea to have a product like this but when this product cause your code to be deletion and you computer becomes so slow , thin I think it is better to call it a desaster and I can not remove it from my PC and return my VS.Net 2003 to the good and normal way..

Resharper removes the first letters from my code lines , it disables the UNDO \ REDO function VS.Net 2003 and if you need to copy and paste part of your code ...you will gone lose your code and you got to write it again , I know 4 developers faecing the same problem ...
is there is a solution for this problem b/c if so it desirve to try it , I downloaded the last version 1.5 and it is stell the same , it the problem can not be solved please guide me to HOW TO REMOVE IT ?

Hello osman,

your very emotional post unfortunately provides too few useful information
for us to understand your problem.
First of all, what build of ReSharper did you use? Why can't you remove it
- what errors do you get? What do you mean 'Resharper removes the first letters
from my code lines'?

Hello osman,

I tried this nice product but it was a disaster !!! it is a great
idea to have a product like this but when this product cause your code
to be deletion and you computer becomes so slow , thin I think it is
better to call it a desaster and I can not remove it from my PC and

Could you describe what operations become slow on your computer: Visual Studio
startup, opening solution, typing? Could you also post your machine characteristics,
processor and memory in particular?

Resharper removes the first letters from my code lines , it disables
the UNDO \ REDO function VS.Net 2003 and if you need to copy and paste
part of your code ...you will gone lose your code and you got to write
it again , I know 4 developers faecing the same problem ...

ReSharper 2.0 EAP sometimes causes disabling of Undo/Redo. However, so far
it was a rare case. The removal of the first lines was never reported before.
Could you describe the scenarios of using Visual Studio that lead to these
problems?

is there is a solution for this problem b/c if so it desirve to try it
, I downloaded the last version 1.5 and it is stell the same , it the
problem can not be solved please guide me to HOW TO REMOVE IT ?

Maybe, version 1.5 did not correctly install over 2.0 EAP version. Did you
uninstall 2.0 EAP prior to installing 1.5? Does the list of installed software
in Add/Remove Programs show only one item ReSharper 1.5?

Thanks,

Thank you for fast reply ,

Firts of all , I ment by (it removes the first letters from my code lines ) is when I press Enter to move to a new line then resharper deletes my first two letters in the begening of my code line for example if my code is like this :

if (i=1)
{
Response.Write(i.ToString());
}
then After I press the ENTER to move to new line it will be like this :

if (i=1)
ponse.Write(i.ToString());
}

and not just one line , it is on the all code .

when I remove Resharper from my system my VS.Net2003 code editor is not like before ,the intelinse menu is not appearing , and code completion is not working
(when I removed Resharper) .

Sorry for my bad English .

Resharper isn't doing that. I don't know why you're experiencing these
problems, but I've never seen or heard of these kinds of problems before.
There must be something unique to your situation or installation... there
must either be some conflict with some other plug-in you're using, or
something weird in your localized language version of VS and Resharper
conflicting.

Resharper is one of the best tools I've ever used in developing .Net
applications using Visual Studio. In fact, I can no longer use just plain
VisualStudio because it's so painful without Resharper. Reshaper is
great... I'm sorry you're having these problems, but I can't blame it on
ReSharper since so many people are using it so successfully, and not seeing
these problems you're having. I hope that you and the JetBrains team are
able to figure out what's going wrong for you, and help you fix it.

Full ACK! It's quite hard to find bugs in ReSharper v1.5, it's rock
solid and definitelly one of the most flawless pieces of software I have
ever used (v2 still has it's way to go, but it's on the right track ;-).

I actually know the problem of intellisense stopping to work after you
uninstall ReSharper. But.. normally you do NOT uninstall ReSharper
anyway! Never, never, never! mkay?

I have also seen some weird problems with ReSharper on german
installations of VS. My suggestion to my colleagues always is to install
a clean english VS and that always worked so far. So if the op has the
chance to do this, I'd definitelly give this a try! The Jetbrains guys
also seem quite eager when it comes to fixing bugs (big thanks!) so
chances are good that you'll soon be able to start loving and getting
addicted to ReSharper ;)

I had noticed that when Resharper is removed (in my case in preparation
for installing Beta 2) Intellisense was not restored. This is easy to do
from Tools | OPtions | Text Editor

and not just one line , it is on the all code .

Thank you for the example. This problem was never reported before. Maybe,
it happens because of interaction between ReSharper and some third-party
Visual Studio add-in. Do you have any add-ins other than ReSharper installed
in Visual Studio?

when I remove Resharper from my system my VS.Net2003 code editor is
not like before ,the intelinse menu is not appearing , and code
completion is not working (when I removed Resharper) .

When being uninstalled ReSharper may fail to restore Visual Studio intelliSense
and Parameter info features. This can be done via menu item Tools/Options,
Text Edtor/General Tab. You need to check the Auto List members and Parameter
Information check boxes.

Andrey Simanovsky

Could you send us print screens with Visual Studio before you you press Enter
and after it?

Let's put it this way... there is something bizzare and unique to your
location then. Because thousands of people are using Resharper 1.5 on
VS2003 quite successfully without anything even resembling the problems
you're describing. Such problems never appeared to anyone during the EAP
beta phase of Resharper 1.x either. There is SOMETHING there that is the
problem, and it's obviously not Resharper. Resharper is an amazing and
wonderful tool that works as you'd expect it to: brilliantly.

Have you tried uninstalling it, re-downloading a new copy (maybe you got a
corrupted copy somehow?), reinstalling/repairing VS2003 to make sure it's
clean, and reinstalling ReSharper?

I really can't think of what might be causing the problems you're
describing, but the more things you try, and the more information you give
the JetBrains guys, the more likely it is that the problem will be found and
fixed.
