Reduce ReSharper Memory Usage

As others have reported, ReSharper has been consuming a lot of my machine's memory for certain projects. I have the ReSharper option turned on to "Show managed memory usage in status bar".

I happened to right-click on the area in the status bar where the ReSharper memory was being displayed and up pops a menu with "Collect Garbage" as a choice. Selecting this menu item immediately freed up a few hundred megs of memory.

In a perfect world this would not be needed, but in the mean time I have gotten into the habit of periodically doing this manually and things are working OK. Hope this helps someone else out there...

Is that about the OutOfMemoryExceptions?

Do you mean that things work better with clicking than without it? If yes,
then in which way do they work better?

I have watched my resharper memory usage grow from 50meg to hundreds and hundreds of megs and have no good explaination as to the reason. Web projects seem to be the worst offenders.

My IDE had been crashing when I closed it at the end day. It did not do so yesterday, but that was the first day I tried the "Collect Garbage" so hard to say if it was related or not.
