Version going live next week has many exception issues

I have the version 4.5 going like beta and it has many issues that we were told would be addressed.

1)   When I delete with Resharper on 90% of the time VizStudio2008 hangs indefitely. When I delete a file I have to exit Visual Studio delete then come back in and delete a non referenced file.

2) repeatedly Resharper will not allow me to put in a " on this  <.....  runat= server"  ...> I have to open the file in notepad, add the quote, then click reload in Visual;Studio. I get many exceptions in the UI while this is happening and have to shut down Visual Studio. This happens if the IDE has been up for more than 1 hour.

3) When clicking  "View Designer" context menu item on an aspx code behind file, 20% of the time i have to wait 1:45 (1 minute 45 seconds ) 3:00 (3 minutes ) before I can do anything in Visual Studio. with 2-3% of the time Visual Studio hangs indefinitely.

I personally do jot see how this could be a go live version, since these items should be show stoppers. The Feb. 17 version has far less bug issues then the live version as far as aspx pages are concerned in enterprise level projects.

I really hope resharper takes a hard look before releasing this. This week alone I have been trying to make a small change before a demo with supervisors and I want to make a fast web change and a simple aspx control and it becomes a 17 minute(no exaggeration) change, causing me to be late for a meeting and having to explain to my IT manager that Resharper is still causing me to lose my hair and miss deadlines.

Thanks,
Nick

But, I do want it to be known that jet brians has made gigantic leaps in improvements in this area. I actually re-installed resharper..thats a good thing.

But, its gone from not usable to below acceptable. But, I don't see how they could say the road is finished.

How did you travel to the future to get the final build? And what will its build number be?

In all seriousness, just make sure you are logging detailed issue reports with the JetBrains folks, as they have been jumping all over the exception reports and fixing things very rapidly, as you'd see from their frequent replies to posts on these forums, especially the EAP forum.

On a related note, what build are you actually running? At the moment of writing this reply, the current EAP build is 1225.

wow....you need some lessons in comedy. But, you are a good troll.

My entire team was sent an email from resharper that stated this would would be the version to go live next week.

And yes I have been recording them. Apparently the email is pointing at the wrong version, or at least I hope so.

posting a fix and actually fixing it are 2 different birds and I'm sure they are fixing many issues, but the ones important to our development have not been fixed.

Their email, which I have open right now, states that 4.5 will be released next week, but at no point does it mention that the product has been finalized or which build will be released. Upgrade to build 1225 and try again. Additionally, would you mind listing the JIRA issues that you have opened, such that I can believe that YOU are not the troll? (It certainly isn't me, as you'll note from my posting history here.)

Maybee you should try the Build from Today 1225. If you are running EAP
you should update to the current Version

umm, how can you define that I would be the troll when you are actually "trolling" by definition? I stated issues that are known by many developers and JetBrains promised these would be fixed.

I stated direct facts from a development experience with no exaggerations. These have been happening for a month and a half now and we have calmly waited. I have not trolled in anyway or form.

You sir, are trolling and have been extremely disrespectful and I will be happy to take my items up with a JetBrains employee to help them resolve the issues, but after your ignorant comments...I don't really care what opinions you may have.

The only thing your interested in is starting an internet flaming war. Immaturity never wins. I have better things to do.

Good luck.

Trolling? I asked how you got the final build, what build you were really running, what issues you had logged, and to try upgrading.

If that is trolling then I don't know what this world has come to.

Have fun off in your little world where you label other people as ignorant, disrespectful trolls. I'll be over here with the rest of us, using this great tool, and helping eachother out when things go wrong.

Hello Nick,

Would you mind contacting me directly by email? orangy at jetbrains. We may
need a lot more information and that probably should be private.

Also, as other people already noted, please install build 1225 which has
numerious issues fixed, especially in ASP.NET area. Also, it would be great
if you can tell me your username on JIRA so I can review issues you posted,
so that I can either confirm they are fixed, or ask for additional information
if we were not able to reproduce them.

Thanks for letting us know, we definitly want to make ReSharper good for
you.

Sincerely,
Ilya Ryzhenkov

Sounds good. I logged additional errors 2 days ago and noted thier numbers. I noticed that JIRA isn't automatically logging me in.

All of our ascx pages have barely any html code ( We don't use tables(<table>)) so basically its 2 divs and and a grid view or an Infragistics Textbox. We do have a lot of Css rules, but that shouldn't affect anything.

It always happens on the Web User Controls..Each control is part of an MVP framework that we created. I don't get any errors, but it hangs for 2+ mins or dies.

We do have one file that is gigantic(8k lines+) that acts as a major proxy(yes its a bad idea, but its legacy) And when I paste a method declaration it reports numerous Out of Memory Exceptions.

I will put this in the email later today when things slow down. Thanks for your time.

Thanks,
Nick
