Auto hiding all popup windows in resharper, 3.x, 4.x

Hi there,

I have trouble that all popup windows which r# fires (e.g. CTRL+N,
Alt+Ins) are auto hidden after few miliseconds that popup is showed.

Attached log is dumped before CTRL+N is pressed. Could you please find
from log what is wrong?

Others add-ins: GhostDoc

Windows XP SP3
Visual Studio 2008 SP1
.NET Framwork 3.5 SP1
Resharper 3.x and 4.x

Hello,

I have trouble that all popup windows which r# fires (e.g. CTRL+N,
Alt+Ins) are auto hidden after few miliseconds that popup is showed.

As those windows would dismiss on loss of focus (clicking outside the window,
for example), this behavior means that something is stealing the focus from
the newly-opened popup. The logs do not have enough information on that.
There must be something specific in the computer configuration, not necessarily
in Visual Studio itself. Possibly, some programs running in background or
as services.

I just started having the same exact issue. VS 2008 DB edition with GDR R2 and latest version of ReSharper on Win7 x64. The same exact configuration works fine on another machine, and if fact has worked fine on this machine till just recently. I can't think of what I could have done to cause this. Uninstalling resharper, repairing the VS install and reinstalling resharper has not helped.

Any ideas?

On further thought, this seems related to whatever control RS uses for dropdowns. The lightbulb dropdowns get cancelled out, as does navigate (CTRL+N), as does the rename dialig (CTRL+F6). However, the Move dialog, which seems to use a different type of dropdown (the one with a triangle pointing down), does not get cancelled and works fine.

Hope that helps!

I've got this resolved. Unfortunately, to do so, I had to fully uninstall VS 2008 (including wiping all remnants from HD and registry). Then installed VS, applied win updates, installed resharper, installed VS SP1, installed data dude GDR R2, and was back in business.
