4.5 (1231): Xaml-Editor Refresh problems in VS 2008 with Reshaper active

Hi,

I experience a strange problem with the Visual Studio 2008 editor and Resharper.

It only occurs while editing Xaml-files. What happens is that near the right edge of the editor window where the scrollbars and the Reshaper marker bar is there are serious redraw problems. They get worse when i drag the right edge of the editor window to the left or right.

Some pictures say more than 1000 words, so i added a zip with 6 screen shots.

In the first three you see VS 2008 with a Xaml file open in the editor (Resharper disabled) and the right edge of the editor window moved to the right and to the left. Everything ok here.

The next three show the same with Resharper enabled. You can clearly see the garbled editor window.

It doesn't happen with Xml files.

I didn't find any trace of this in the resharper forum or while googling, so i am not sure if this problem involves more than Resharper, probably other plugins (i have many installed).

Anyone seen this problem?

Regards,
   Gunter

I forgot to mention:

This happens on two different computer. A Quadcore desktop (Nvidia GTX 260) and a Thinkpad (integrated graphics), both running Windows 7 64 bit.
The Visual Studio 2008 (SP#1) on both have the same addins installed.

I already disabled all addins you can unter the Tools menu and i also tried running Visual Studio in safe mode (from the command line with /safemode), no change. I also ran devenv /resetsettings, didn't help also.

Image #2: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit english

Identical Vmware virtual hardware settings (2GB ram, 2 cores)

On both Installations i did the following:

On the 64bit Windows i have exactly the refresh problem as described, on the 32bit-Windows everything is working.

Attached the "Copy Info" from the VS About form.

Gunter
