Announcing Agent Ralph

Hello!

I've just released version 1.0 of my Resharper plugin, Agent Ralph.

Agent Ralph is a C# code clone detection and repair tool.  If any two methods in the same class and file are functionally equivalent (ignoring comments, whitespace, and variable names) Agent Ralph will detect the situation and offer a quick fix to replace the body of one method with a call to the other.

You can read more and download Agent Ralph here.

I would love to hear from anyone using it, and any feedback, bug reports, or feature requests you may have as well.

Thanks!
Josh

Hi,

sounds very interesting. Any chance for a version which supports R# 6?

Kind regards,
Henning

Hi Henning,

I do intend to support R# 6 as soon as I can once it is released.  Frankly, I haven't looked into any of the R# 6 EAP builds yet.  But I'll add it to my list and try to be ready for R# 6 when it comes.

Hello, I recently came across your plugin and think it is an amazing idea. I am really keen on giving it a try, but I have resharper v6. I was wondering how close you were to porting this over?

Hi Scott,

Unfortunately I haven't been able to work on updating Agent Ralph to R# 6.  I'm not sure when I'll be able to sit down and devote some time to it.  Hopefully soon.

I'm very interested in this. Could you update this thread if you get around to updating it?

Thanks!
