ReSharper 6 and StyleCop

I was really excited and happy to see that StyleCop 4.5 RC has built-in support for ReSharper 5, however, this doesn't seem to work with ReSharper 6.

Is there a way to force it to work with ReSharper 6? Or is ReSharper 6 not backwards compatible with plug-ins designed for ReSharper 5?

I'd really love to see StyleCop support in R# 6.

Hello Makoto,

ReSharper 6 is only partially compatible with plug-ins designed for ReSharper
5. At the moment there's no StyleCop plug-in compatible with EAP builds of
ReSharper 6, but for sure it will be released as soon as ReSharper 6 API
becomes stable. Thank you!

Our company is about to upgrade all our ReSharper 5 licenses to version 6. We are using StyleCop for ReSharper extensivelly and we would really hope we could use it again. Any initial estimations for when it would be available? (even beta).

Thanks,
Cristian

Likewise for me. I am looking forward to upgrading to ReSharper 6 but need the upgraded version of StyleCop to handle ReSharper 6.

well, if you want to get the status of stylecop then ask the developers of stylecop and not of resharper ;)
it is a third party plugin

see this post for more information about the release date

I agree, but this was one of the sites I found while googling
for this topic and I saw a JetBrains employee actually answered it :).

ok, maybe they are in contact with the creators of stylcop to give them some hints about the new plugin api

Hello All,

I've recently talked to plug-in developers. They are currently working on
a new version which will be compatible with ReSharper 6, but they can't give
any estimates yet. Thank you!

Thank you for letting us know.

If you have a peek at the discussion they are running into a brick wall with Jetbrains

Please see http://stylecop.codeplex.com/discussions/256031 could you guys give them a hand? Its a massive addition to JetBrains so would be horrible to loose support.

Is there any estimate on when ReSharper 6 API will become stable? There are many of us that want a compatible R# 6 / StyleCop.

you are quoting a message which is over a month old... in between resharper 6 was released so you can consider a stable api else something goes really wrong here ;)

every major release and api changes is a mess for the plugin developers
I know your time is spare due bug fixing etc. but I would like to see more information, turorial, workshops, blog entries whatever to allow plugin developers a faster upgrade and a faster entry to the whole stuff at all
I have seen you have a much stronger wiki about this now however it is incomplete and things like "how to upgrade plugins" or "what has changed" are missing

Any news as to when the ReSharper 6 API will be stable?

Hello,

ReSharper 6 API is already stable and the StyleCop plug-in for ReSharper
6 is already in development. Thank you!
