How to re-use a 6.1 License

I have been issued a ReSharper license used previously by a developer who has left the company.
Unfortunately, after entering a user name and the key - I see "The License Key is invalid" above my name and am unable to proceed.
I've tried all of the keys which are no longer in use, as well a couple that are known to be working.
Feels like I am doing something wrong - but I cannot figure out what.

Any ideas?
Note: VS 2010, latest 6.1 release of ReSharper.

     Please make sure that you're entering the user name and the license key exactly as specified in the license e-mail. If this doesn't help, please contact me directly (andrew dot serebryansky at jetbrains dot com) providing the license information that you've got. Thank you!
