resharper and mstest

Hi all,

Probable somethig clear for others, but i just can't get resharper to honor deployment setup in testsettings file. Hhow can this be accomplished?

I try to change resharper settings for mstest but:
- default option to use settings in metadata file are unclear: what metdata file?
- use specific deployment is useless, as it only shows "default", edit is disabled (I have 2 testsettings files in my solution)

Using Resharper 6.0, VS 2010

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
florin

Hi Florin,

metadata file is *.vsmdi file created by Visual Studio, it is usually located in solution's root folder. If it's not mentioned in options page, it means you don't have one or ReSharper didn't located this file.
TestSettings selection from Test - Select Active Test Settings is written in this file. So if you've chosen your favorite Test Settings in VS main menu it should be a best option for ReSharper's test runner.

The same with TestSettings, ReSharper looks for them in Solution Items folder. Again, if there are no items in dropdown, it means ReSharper didn't find TestSettings files. Please, check where are they located?

Hi Victor,

First thanks for reply.

I have one vsmdi in the same folder as the solution and having the same name. In the same folder there are also the 2 testsettings files.
Also the resharper temp folder is located unde AppData folder, not under solution's folder

Is there a way to troubleshoot this?

Thanks,
florin

Are these files included in solution?

For troubleshooting, could you please run VS with command-line key /ReSharper.LogFile C:\path\to\logfile.log
then open your solution and MSTest options page.
Then please send this log to support@jetbrains.com with link to this page.

Yes, the files are included in the solution under a solution folder.
I have sent the logs.

For the record, ReSharper unit test runner for MSTest hasn't worked for us
either, due to not honoring the required folder settings.

I'm hoping this gets fixed in version 6.1, and there is a tracker entry for
it somewhere.

I'm using the Resharper 7.0.1 and have the same problems. I have
multiple testsettings files and in the dropdown its only default listed.

Is there any solution for the problem?
