Resharper 8 activation with new license key

I cannot edit my solution once I resume my resharper tool.

I had downloaded the trial version and have been using it fine for the past month.

Now i have the new key and on installing it the solution becomes uneditable.

i have re-installed Re-shaper 8 with no joy and have restarted the machine with the resumed option.

I cannot see any immediate solution and am very disappointed with the way the discussion forum takes ever so long to post this issue in the forum.
