Resharper 8.2 Cannot Resolve Symbol after installing Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2013 – March 2014 Update

Clean installation:
1. Visual Studio 2013 with Update 1.
2. Windows version: 8.1
2. No other plugin installed.
3. Resharper 8.2 Evaluation.

Before installing Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2013 - March 2014 Update, Reshaprer works as intended for the C # LightSwitch HTML5 Application.

After Installing the above update, Resharper works fine on the LightSwitch project created before the update installed. However, resharper does not resolve any reference at all on new LightSwitch project created after the installation of the above update.

What I did to test:
1. Create a C# LightSwitch HTML5 Application.
2. Create a table with one single property.
3. Write Code -> Query Filter -> xxx_Filter
4. Try Filter = e => e.xxx == this.Application...

Everything works fine with the above before update, after the Office Developer Tools installation, Resharper cannon resolve a thing.

By disabling Code Analysis, the intellesense works as normal.

I'm having the same issue.

I knew I am not alone. Hope it will be fixed soon enough.

So far, I had no choice but to cripple Resharper by disablling the Code Analysis and use VS Intellesense.

Please try this private ReSharper 8.2.1 build http://download.jetbrains.com/resharper/ReSharperSetup.8.2.0.2507.msi and check the issue there.

Thank you very much Alexander! The problem is solved by installing this build.

Same here with 8.2.0.2160 built  on 2014-03-20.

Pretty disappointing when a -core- function such is this is not working.  It renders Resharper unsable because you no longer can trust the highlighted code.

I'm force to uninstall until a fix a provided.

Shameful!

Did you try this private ReSharper 8.2.1 build http://download.jetbrains.com/resharper/ReSharperSetup.8.2.0.2507.msi? We've fixed it there.

Yes I did... and it does NOT fix the issue.

But removing the "NuGet support for ReSharper" and "ReSharper.ExternalAnnotations" packages did.

What's up with that?

With the mentioned private build, I do not have any problems.

however I did have problems with installing updates for vs2013. After installing update 1, then the march update installation often fail or lightswitch component does not function at all, installing update 2 on the already broken environment does not fix any problems.

However, I did a clean installation of vs 2013, then skip all the updates and install update 2 RC on a clean vs 2013 . It worked beautifully. I didn't have any problems and I did not need to install the march update separately, it is included in the update 2 RC.

i would recommend you to do the same, yes it is a lot of time to waste on installation, but a working and clean VS avoids loads of troubles. I think there are too many incremental updates and patches from Microsoft since the release of vs2013, installing them one by one increase the risk of an unstable environment, it shouldn't be, but nothing is perfect in this world.

Did anyone get this resolved correctly?

I installed the said update 2507, and during installation it came back saying there were missing references to some SQL DLLs and SharePoint DLLs.  Now when I load any of my LightSwitch apps it says that its missing references to those locations.  Of course causing havoc with the project.

What a mess!

Yep, I can no believe Resharper has released such a crappy update.  I have always said having resharper is like having 1/2 a developer sitting on my shoulders... NO MORE... I do not
trust it anymore.

What a shame!

Lack of quality control always comes back to bit you... Resharper... you've been bitten!!!!

Arrrrgggg!!!

Thanks for updating me on the issue... Guess its back to JustCode from Telerik... I've also heard good things about DevExpress CodeRush.

JetBrain support... can you give us any reasonable expectation that you'll fix this issue with the latest Visual Studio Updates???

I have got the exact same alert.  I just chose not to delete the ref.

As I said in the previous post, I installed VS then Update 1 then the March Update, there was something went wrong and I could not create or open lightswitch projects, that is without the intallation of Resharper. Installing Update 2 RC didn't help neither.

Second time, I install VS and jump to update 2, then I installed Resharper, it's working for me.

However, during using the Resharper with LightSwitch HTML project, I find that Resharper's Javacript suppot in the screen client code is not that great, might be because I am still learning this part, but I want to make sure that nothing come in the way of my learning and as a result I disabled Resharper for now.
