Surround With

I like the Surround With feature, and I appreciate that it now works with both the mouse and arrow keys in addition to the numbers, but I still have some issues with its implementation:

  • If activated near the bottom of the screen, then the dropdown may end up partially hidden.

  • Also, the dropdown's look and feel is different from both the other Resharper UI elements and those of VS. I like the look and feel of the "Casting smart tag" (Alt+Enter), could that be applied to these other UI elements

Lastly, what are the plans for letting users edit the Surround With list? For example, I'd like () and ""...

Thanks,
Oskar

Oskar,

1) Regarding UI - we are working on improvements, but from my point of
view there's major difference between surround with and quickfix UI
2) Custom templates and surrounds will be available in M2 as promised.

2 other issues:

Tried to use Surround With to insert a try catch block and discovered:

  • CtrlAltJ, a does not work - it has to be CtrlAltJ, A

  • The catch block does not use the same exception parameter name as is defined in Tools-Options-Resharper-Code Style.

The first looks like a simple bug, the second I'd imagine would be too difficult to fix (as it's not related to the CodeStyle?)

Thanks,
Oskar

Oskar,

We will fix both bugs. Thanks for the request.
