Since installing WinXP Service Pack 2 (RTM) Visual Studio has ceased to function properly. Could this be something in ReSharper?
SP2 is still RC II, isn't it? You probably shouldn't put anything RC from MS into a production environment (as they warn) ... however, if it's the final version (due out next month I thought), then try VS without ReSharper first ... ;)
I know that didnt help you AT ALL, but some friendly advice ;)

I have installed XP SP2 final yesterday, and I was using XP SP2 RC2 before that. I didn't notice any problems with Visual Studio or Resharper.

SP2 is Final. And it is not a problem with ReSharper. It is a problem with
Memory Access in .NET.
The solution is to download the .NET Framework SP1
