File Structure Hide and Seek

I know there have been some previous posts about the File Structure windows and not setting it to auto-hide - no problem. I have mine docked next to the Solution Explorer and the Properties tabs. Unfortunately, it doesn't show up by default. See FileStructureMissing.png. When I select ReSharper | Windows | File Structure, it magically shows up. See FileStructureFound.png. However, if I select the Solution Explorer tab, the File Structure tab disappears and I'm back to the FileStructureMissing.png screenshot.

Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks,
Derek

Derek,

The second picture You've posted shows that You've placed 'File Structure'
window separately, not as a tab along with 'Solution Explorer' and
'Properties'. In fact, there exist a problem with our tool windows docked
with auto-hide (we don't know precisely, whether it is a VS bug or our) -
sometimes the window is not shown on mouse over. To make it visible, You
should dock any toolwindow window to the same side of the border, make it
auto-hide, let it close, then show it and pin. As a result You'll get hidden
window placed on tab along with the window You've just docked.

Hello Sergey,

Not true - I never have my Solution Explorer, Properties, etc. tabs set to
auto-hide. Check out both screenshots and you'll notice that the pushpin
or whatever it's called is in the "non-auto-hide" down position. I have
all the windows docked to the same tab including the File Structure tab.
It's just bizarre that when I click the Solution Explorer tab (or any other
docked tab) all docked tabs disappear except for the Solution Explorer and
Properties tabs. It's only when I select File Structure from the ReSharper
menu do I get all the docked tabs displayed including the File Structure
tab, which was shown as the first tab in the group. But it never persists
and I have to always go back to the ReSharper menu to have it displayed again.

Thanks,
Derek

Derek,

Sometimes, I get similar behavior in VS2005 when click to the tab has effect
as if I pull out tab contents. I think, it's a VS bug.
Unfortunately, I have no idea how to deal with the issue :(
