can install 210
Hi All
I can not install 210
I get the following msg copied from the command prompt window during install
( I did uninstall ver 209 before installing 210)
An exception occurred during the Install phase.
System.TypeLoadException: Could not load type
'System.Runtime.CompilerServices.RuntimeCompatibilityAttribute' from
assembly 'mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, C
ulture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'.
The Rollback phase of the installation is beginning.
See the contents of the log file for the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual
Studio 8\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\JetBrains.ReSharper.VSIntegration.dll
a
ssembly's progress.
The file is located at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio
8\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\JetBrains.ReSharper.VSIntegration.InstallLog.
Rolling back assembly 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio
8\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\JetBrains.ReSharper.VSIntegration.dll'.
Affected parameters are:
installdir = C:\Program Files\JetBrains\ReSharper\VS2005\
logtoconsole =
vsversion = 8.0
assemblypath = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio
8\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\JetBrains.ReSharper.VSIntegration.dll
logfile = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio
8\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\JetBrains.ReSharper.VSIntegration.InstallLog
I am also attaching the log file.
From the log file I can see that the installer tries to find
"RuntimeCompatibilityAttribute" class.
I am using beta version of 2005. In this version this class doesn't exist,
it exist in the release version
Does this version good only for the official release of VS2005?
Thanks
Erez

Hello Erez,
what exactly version of .NET 2.0 Runtime do you use (i.e. what's value of
x in
your 2.0.x.y version of mscorlib)? ReSharper assemblies are built against
Whidbey Beta 2, so there should be no problem running them
on versions of runtime 2.0.50215.y and 2.0.50727.y. If you have a
previous version, I think they will not be loaded and you'll get this
exception (although ReSharper's installer does not know anything of
RuntimeCompatibilityAttribute, the exception just happens during mscorlib
load).

I am using version v2.0.50215
I checked for the mscorlib file using C# reflector and the
RuntimeCompatibilityAttribute class is not included in this version

Hello Pablo,
sorry for inconveniences, it appears that since 210 ReSharper no longer supports
Beta 2.
Only versions 8.0.50727.x are supported. We've updated Confluence accordingly.

Since we need to still use the Team Suite (Beta 2), that is sad news.

Sorry for this again. But maintaining multiple versions of 2.0 framework
simultaneously has
become a pain for us and we've decided to migrate to VS 2005 Final.

I think the extended license for 209 expires 11/29, but Team Suite
may not be release until December.

Actually you can take license from any EAP build and put it into the build
209. Alternatively if you have a commercial license for ReSharper 1.5 you
can use it. If you don't have one but plan to use ReSharper 2.0 in future,
I would recommend you to buy ReSharper 1.5 now because the price will be
increased as the ReSharper 2.0 is released (and upgrade from ReSharper 1.5
is free!).
