Error in color usage: Some colors ignore the settings. Build 210 VS 2005

Hi to All,

Some colors ignore the value what are in VS.NET 2005 / Tools / Options

For example Dead Code has yellow background, and it completly ignores what
I've tried to set.
Also, parameter variables appears in green background in editor. It ignores
the setting in Tools / Options.

Other color setting are working. If I make a change in Tools / Options the
corresponding change applied in the text editor.

Any ideas?

Hi John,

Are you also using DevExpress Refactor! - if you are, then I think this is
where your problem lies. They don't seem to coexist peacefully, as far as
I can tell. HTH

Hello Barry,

the problem is neither in ReSharper nor in Refactor! - this is a known bug in
VS 2005. We expect that MS releases a hotfix for it soon.

Hi Dimitry,

Thx for your answer.

I am using VS.NET 2005 Team... final release. As you wrote the feature is in
VS.NET.
I suppose that the majority of users does not experience this feature,
because no one wrote message about it.
To be short: Is there any workaround to make this yellow and green
background gone from my text editor?

thx for answers

Hello john,

actually all VS 2005 users experience and many of them reported this problem
- just search in this newsgroup
for 'color' or something like that. The bug is in all version of VS 2005
starting from Beta 2 or even earlier. It still
is not fixed.

The problem is that colors for parameters gets confused with a color of some
other 'Display Item' (because internally
VS allocates a fixed amount of bits for color information which becomes insufficient
to hold colors for all display items).
Search in the Tools|Options|Fonts and Colors for the display item which has
the same colors as you see for parameters
and change its settings. This will also change colors for parameters, since
they're are the same internally. Ugly, but it works.
