[213] First Impressions and problems

Morning All,

OK, installed 213 for an initial test and have found the following:

1. Resharper doesn't seem to recognise new files added to a web
project.

2. I get a series of crashes when exiting VS2005.

3. It would be handy if Resharper could also work in the aspx pages,
with code hints, reformatting, etc.

That's it for now.

Cheers,

Julian

Hello Julian,

1) Please describe the problem in more detail : what kind of projects, what
files have you added etc.

2) Have you submitted those crashes?

3) It should work in the aspx pages. Again, what kind of project you're working
on?

Thanks.

Hi Dmitry,

When adding a standard web form to an ASP.Net project. The site is being run on
the dev server and has the FP extensions installed (not sure if relevant).

At the moment I am just doing some initial tests with VS2k5 so am working through
the QuickStart tutorials, nothing too complex.

2) Have you submitted those crashes?

yes.

Already stated.

Unfortunately, it's a problem with events in VS. If You close and reopen
.aspx file, R# will get all the necessary notifications

Just doing some more playing and have added a class to a VS2k5 ASP.Net app
and Resharper isn't picking it up, despite having saved, closed and then
re-opened the class.

Also, looking at an ASPX page I see that Resharper is highlighting an error
in the code with the tool tip saying "Cannot resolve symbol Font-Bold'" in
tags for SelectedRowStyle and HeaderStyle for a datagrid - this doesn't
seem right.

Cheers,

Julian

This is REALLY very strange, since I have tests for it. Could You send us a
small solution, that illustrates the problem.

I don't know if it is relevant in your case. But did you have previous
better versions ever installed on this machine.
I had similar problems with ASP.NET projects in 209 -212 and was frustrated
by the fact that this "obvious" problems me and may be few more developers
pick up.
I just recently got new machine and 213 works great with ASP.NET projects.
Could be some directories that are not deleted by uninstall should be
cleared.

Also for aspx files. Switching from design view to html view usually
refreshes cash (even if close / open doesn't). And closing and opening
project always helped to me for existing files. (It is very bad work around
for big projects but could be OK for smaller or if you don't need to add new
files too often)
Just trying to help
Shimon.

That is worth noting. I tried 212 initially, but then uninstalled it and put
on 213.
