Build 213, exceptions during startup and with intellisense

Hello.

Sorry for droping another post, that is due to I received no answer for my
first. Every time I running the VS2003 with resharper build 213 installed
I'm getting the following exceptin (I know it's obsolete, but that is not so
obvious for me):
http://www.intellij.net/tracker/resharper/viewSCR?publicId=14126
I've got this exception every time with any solution and with no solution at
all. Even when trying to uninstall resharp I've receiving it again.
Reinstallation doesn't help at all. However the worst thing with this
situation is the intellisense is not working at all. Every time when I'm
trying to use it it drops exception and does nothing:
http://www.intellij.net/tracker/resharper/viewSCR?publicId=14376

Any help will be appriciated, since I'm addicted to the resharper and using
the plain VS IDE is pain for me.

WBR, Nik.

Hello Nik,

could you please try running 'devenv.exe /setup' from the command line (make
sure that you've closed all isntances of
VS before), wait for it to finish and check if the problem persists after
that?

Hello Dmitry,

Thanks for the answer, but there is no changes, at all.
Actually the last actions I've maid before this weird exception occurred
for the first time were the installation of the NERPA plugin and of the JetBrains
Omea Reader (as far as I remember) :)) Nerpa was removed first, omea still
persists :)

Hello Nik,

could you please post the contents of the registry key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\7.1\
Text Editor\External Markers here? We suspect that the problem is in an incorrect
entry in this key
remained from an extension of VS (perhaps from the NERPA plugin)?

Hello Dmitry,

Thank you very much, your last suggestion succesfully resolved my problem :)
Actually the source of it was the NERPA Suggestion plugin.
Removing associated key made the Resharper work again, however I've dumped the External Markers regiistry tree for your purposes (may be you'll implement soft resolution).
thank you again for fast answers and great application.

Hello Nik,

there are actually three problems here:

1) NERPA plugin should of course remove any entries it added to the registry
during uninstallation. We'll consult
with its author to make sure that it is really the case.

2) VS itself should be more stable to invalid entries under that key. Unfortunately,
MS haven't made it stable and
this is the problem even with Whidbey - an invalid entry causes all subsequent
(and probably valid) entries to be bypassed. This is
not a sane behavior for an extensible enviroment.

3) ReSharper's code which crash should be more robust, we'll fix it.

Thank you for your feedback and drawing our attention to this issue!

Hello Dmitry,

As we don't have any installation at all for NERPA, and installation is manual
(import .reg file), uninstallation also have to be manual.
I will put a note about suggestion marker on the NERPA page.

Sincerely,
Ilya Ryzhenkov
