Build 221 was pretty stable for me.
But since instalilng Build 222, I've received several exceptions (logged to
tracker) when just typing code (generally when typing if statements or
parens or brackets or dealing with issues in there). I've also started
pretty reliably experiencing a crash on shut down (no cool jetbrains
exception dialog... just the microsoft "error report" dialog a few seconds
after Visual Studio seems to have shut down).
Is anyone else experiencing these issues? I'll try and be more specific the
next time I run into them and record what data I can... but that will have
to wait until tomorrow.
On a side note, I remove the _Resharper* folders before installing new
versions, so first time start ups are "clean".
First start with opening my working solution is as follows: 2.5 minutes
until I can type anything, total of 4 minutes before resharper is done
parsing everything, and has reached 'steady state'. That's just way, way
On a "warm start" it's better: nearly 1 minute until I can type anything,
and about 20 additional seconds of parsing everything.
But still, having to wait a minute and a half between launch and being
fully functional is really long on those occasions you find yourself needing
to shut down and restart several times. Especially since the "without
resharper installed" numbers are something on the order of 10 seconds.
That's an increase in load time of almost an order of magnitude. I hope you
guys can get that start-up time down before release, or it's going to be a
hard-sell to some of my coworkers.
