[242] Popup-Windows become inaccessible after some time

Hi,

I'm having some troubles with the popup windows in build 242. After some
time (I have not yet been able to find a pattern), I cannot access the
popup windows (AltEnter, AltInsert) any more. They appear, but you
cannot navigate using keyboard and you cannot click on any entry. Still
you can press escape to hide them again. The issue is only solved by
restarting VS2005.

Best regards,
Martin

I have this exact same problem. All the little pop-up windows are useless.

Also, the bug tracker is inaccessible.

Yea! This appears to be fixed in 245!

Kevin,
Frankly speaking, we did nothing with the problem in this build. The solid
fix for popups will be included into bugfix update, which is to be out some
time after release.

So you may ship 2.0 knowing that some people will not be able to use the
pop-up menus?

Hello Kevin,

I would not so dramatize this problem. First, it happens really rarely (for
me - may be once in two weeks). Second, it doesn't mean
that people won't be able to use pop-ups - they'll just need to restart VS
to get pop-ups working.
Yes, it is very frustrating but fixing this problem now would indefinitely
delay the 2.0 release.

This is the first time I've seen mention that the problem may be only intermittant & solved by a restart. If that's correct then you're right it's not a big deal. Is there a repository planned for known issues and workarounds? The bug tracker is not really the best place to get such information.

Hello Kevin,

actually such a repositry already exists and we used it for ReSharper 1.x
releases:

http://support.jetbrains.com/kb/kbcategory.jspa?categoryID=28

However, it doesn't contain known issues for 2.0 yet.
