Bug #18766 - my two cents

R

  1. is a great product but I honestly cannot believe you are going to

release 2.0 without bug #18766 (OutOfMemberyError) being fixed (it is
now scheduled for 2.0.1). Even in the latest builds this bug still
brings down VisualStudio at least 3-4 times per day for me.

This kind of problem is understandable in EAP builds, but seems
completely unacceptable for a released product. Nearly every time this
exception is thrown VS simply quits and I lose everything that had been
done since last save. I installed a plugin to auto-save my work every
minute but others, who are not aware of this problem, could lose a
significant amount of data.

We are still investigating this problem. The main difficulty is that it
can't be reproduced at any of our computers, so all investigations/changes
are heuristic.

According to our statistics, only a few users are suffered by this problem,
so there must be something specific in your configuration that brings this
problem to front.

We are still looking for the source of this issue, but I can't promise any
reasonable date when this will be fixed.
