Websolutions parsing
Hi,
Sorry to keep asking about the fix for web solutions, but in my solution I
have 40000 non-code files (jpg, pdf, doc, etc) in 2 folderstruktures that
makes ReSharper very slow. Without Resharper enabled in VS2005, it takes 3
sec to open the solution, with ReSharper 10 minutes. I have monitored the
fileaccess with the Filemon program and ReShaper opens, query and close
every one of the 40000 files.
In the lastest build 603 from 17 feb I can't find any list of fixes and
ReShaper still opens all my files. So I assume this is not fixed yet, is
this correct ?
As my non-code files all are in their own filestruktur, why not give me the
option in ReSharper to exclude folders from being parsed ? There is no
reason why ReSharper has to spend time looking for all these non-code files
when I can tell it where they are.

Hello open,
We have implemented a fix which may help you in 4.0. You can try ReSharper
4.0 nightly build (http://www.jetbrains.net/confluence/display/ReSharper/ReSharper4.0Nightly+Builds)
and see if it fixes the issue. And for submitting issues from 4.0 builds
do not forget to sign in for a JIRA account if you don't have one.

Will this fix not be implemented in v3.11 ?
I can't get v4.0 to work on my system. VS2005 will not load it.

Hello open,
We've got a fix to not scan non-source files. Unfortunately, 3.1 nightly
build publishing was broken by accident, when configuring 4.0 nightly builds.
I hope the fx will be public on monday or tuesday.

Thanks, I now managed to get v4 installed but the problem is also in this
version.
According to filemon every non-code file is being opened and closed and it
takes forever to open the websolution.

Ok thanks.
Looking at my filemon log I notice that it might now only be image files
that are parsed (jpg, tif etc) together with directory structures and not
other non-code files like f.ex pdf and doc files.
I have alot of jpg files that ReSharper shouldn't spend time on parsing.
So if ReSharper needs to parse image files in some situations, I suggest the
easy solution,. Let me have an option for excluding folders and files from
being parsed by ReSharper.

I am anxious to try the fix. This has been a problem for me as well and
has prevented me from upgrading to version 3 (I am still using 2.5 which
works just fine)

I found the nightly builds for 3.1 and installed build 604 and the problem
is fixed! Thank you so much for fixing this!
