Starting on build 5.0.1637.29 R# 5 requires a license to work

I have a license for R# 4.5.

Every day I download and install a new R# 5.0 nightly build.

Since the build 5.0.1637.29, I have not been able to test the product any more.

Besides 5.0.1637.29, I tried 5.0.1638.5 and 5.0.1639.5. All install OK, but when I try to open a VS 2008 project, I receive a message that I need a license. I try to cancel, close the window, or choose the beta testing option. In the window it is stated that I still have 31 days left to test, but it does not go from this point on. When I cancel the window, R# does not operate any more in VS 2008.

I have been testing beta 5 since its very first available version, and I was always able to install and use it.

Now, I am stuck on build 5.0.1636.29 that installs and works without problems. Of course, I would like to continue testing newer versions.

It appears that some change made to the installation beginning on version 5.0.10637.29 is causing this problem.

Is there any way to circumvent this limitation?

Thanks in advance for your support.

Cancelling the window is equal to refuse to use/ evaluate ReSharper. What happens exactly when you chose free evaluation (the very first choice)?

I know this. I am sorry I was not sufficiently clear in my posting.

When I do so, the program states that my trial period has expired and do not
allow me to proceed.

Hmmm, it's very interesting. In fact, the build you're reffering to is somewhere about to a moment when we have extended the evaluation. Does the same thing happen to newer builds?
If yes, contact me directly at qx [at] jetbrains [dot] com or if you have IM, it would be more convinient and we'll try debug the problem.

Sergey,

As I have mentioned in my original posting, this is happening since this
build and for all subsequent ones.

I can be contacted directly via MSN: eduardoquintana hotmail com

Same problem here: I have a valid R#4 license and started using the V5 builds as soon as they were available. Currently I have B2 installed (V5.0.1618).
On starting VS, a "ReSharper License Information" dialog informs me that the "Free evaluation period has expired" and that my "License to version 4.0 is not acceptable".

What am I supposed to do until R#5 officially ships and I can upgrade?

The build 1618 is WAY outdated, it was issued more than a month ago and supplied with 30-days trial which is apperently over. I recommend installing the fresh nightly build from http://confluence.jetbrains.net/display/ReSharper/ReSharper+5.0+Nightly+Builds
The new builds are shipped with new 30-days trial. The only thing is the build 1646 is broken, buth the previous one (1645) is pretty stable.

Thanks for the information. From the large banner on your home page, I was under the misimpression that the latest download was still the same Beta 2.

The latest officially announced is Beta 2 really. But nightly builds are being published daily.
