[2153]Tooltip behavior and some curios bugs

First i want to tell you that the new builds after the rework seems to be more stable (which means less exceptions are thrown) overall.

After installing build 2153 i had a number of exceptions (started with RSRP-267169 ). After deleting R# cache the problems where gone. Sometimes later i wanted to disable R# to compare R#'s tooltip behavior with the original behavior. As i selected  "Resharper/General" in the options menu, Visual Studio crashed. Unfortunately ic couldn't reproduce this.

The main thing i want to note is that the tooltips in the editor window did not work as i excpect (For your information: i work with Visual Studio 2008 on a VB solution). Normally if you hover with the mouse over a variable or method name in source code VS shows me a tooltip with the corresponding declaration. With R# enabled tooltips for methods aren't shown and tooltips for variables are only shown, if i place the mouse at the end of the variable name. I reported this long times ago and i wonder that it isn't fixed until now. It's very because i always have to use "Goto Declaration" to see where a method or variable is declared. I wonder why not more users stumble about this, but i think it's more VB related because you can declare globally scoped variables and methods very easy in modules.

Klaus

Hello Klaus,

We're aware of the problem with tooltips in Visual Studio 2008 and it's one
of top priority problems for us. As to the other problems you've mentioned,
could you please write back as soon as it happens again? Thank you!
