Sharing inspection severity settings

Hi ReSharpies, ;-)

I'm using Version 4.5 and there is no way to share the inspection severity settings among all developers. But this feature is essentially importand for us. (For me, those settings, are one important part in the puzzle of getting well coded software!)

I found a positing in the forum dated on june '08 asking for that feature in version 4.1! The answer was, that this will come up in a future version. Actually I'm testing version 5 beta and ... the feature is still missing !!!!

Please, code this feature, we do really need it.

I agree... this feature is essential.  Teams need to have the same level of
warnings, so we don’t get into the situation where one team member fixes the
ReSharper warnings and checks in, and then another team member with
different settings checks in a version that just undoes the first member's
changes, and back and forth and back and forth it goes.

This applies to not just all the severities, but also to things like the
abbreviations dictionary (needs to be shared across the team), and the
variable naming standards as well.

This really MUST be included ASAP.

We found Resharper Settings Manager http://rsm.codeplex.com/ and it has worked well for us. But I can't wait for this to be included out of the box.

Hello,

Sorry, had too many things to do in v5 with all that VS10, C#4, CLR4 and
MVC2 brand new stuff.

The feature is still on the list with a rather high priority -- but not within
v5 timeframe, unfortunately.

Helle Serge,

no problem - as long as somebody is going to adapt R# SettingsManager to deal with version 5...

I know, it's all in a rapid change right now. We're in trouble too, cos' we have to move to VS2010 right now - even it is BETA !!

Hello,

Oh, this IS a problem for ReSharper users, and we can see it. Unfortunately,
doing the thing right means reworking the settings model considerably, across
all the features that have settings. A "quick solution" would cause more
bug requests (and disappointment) on the feature than we have feature requests
for the missing feature right now.

Okay, fingers crossed it's considered for 5.1 (or 5.5) :)

If I would cross my fingers for every feature I'm waiting for in the tools I use, I would have to type my code with my nose!

Hi,

just wondering if this has been implemented. If so, where can I find documentation on how to use it? If not, any idea when? It is a really big must for any team.

Thanks

Hello Mschnack!

You can use ReSharper Shared settings option, for detailed information please refer to  https://www.jetbrains.com/help/resharper/Sharing_Configuration_Options.html

Thank you.
