Highlight replace pattern

Hi,

I had make a new Highlighting Pattern to remove surrounding parentheses. Now I can set the pattern severity to "Do not show", "Show as hint" and so on.

I want to have a severity that is not shown because there would be too many highlights in my code and that is too flashy.
But when I move the cursor to a parenthesis then a tooltip should come up with the description of my replace pattern.

Is such a pattern severity "Show as tooltip" (or any workaround) possible or is there a shortcut to activate a "Do not show" pattern ?

Hello,

I'm afraid the answer is no. There were plans to add the "as Context Action"
option, which means that as you place caret over the spot there's the yellow
lightbulb to be executed with Alt+Enter, but I'm afraid that wasn't yet implemented.

Maybe the "Show as hint" choice could be the right thing? Its visual noise
is minimal.

or is there a shortcut to activate a "Do not show" pattern ?

You could switch to "do not show" from any location that has a highlighting
by choosing the corresponding option from the bulb menu (Alt+Enter), which
is relatively quick. Switching back is more problematic, as there's no highlighting
to show the options on.

Thank you for the answer.

So the current best trade-off is to use "Show as hint".

Thanks
