Resharper 5.1.3 & VS 20101 SP1 (10.0.40219.1)

Hi,

Resharper newb here - it's entirely possible i've manged to do something really dumb.

We have a large solution. Since installing SP1 I can open a c# source file, and Resharper will tell me that a reference (using) is not needed. Further on in the source it's reporting "Cannot resolve symbol" for types from that assembly.

The project reference itself is fine.

And the build succeeds.

I guess i can supply screen shots if it helps?

Thanks

Hello Kelly,

First of all, please try clearing ReSharper caches: close all instances of
Visual Studio and delete the ReSharper.<solutionname> subfolder of your
solution folder.

Does this happen with a single file only or is it related to a particular
project/assembly reference? Are you able to reproduce this behavior on a
small sample solution?

I have some similar problem for about some weeks. Some of my projects have a references to themself. When I open the solution I get some warnings that some times could not be located. Typically this types are some UserControls.

I also have some major problem with the Winforms Designer. Often I get an error that he can not find some assembly, wich is included as project. I guess some mismatching with the version, I am not sure.
Closing the solution, reopening it and build all helps in this situation.

It is really a mysterious problem and to be honest I am not really sure if the problems are linked in some way or if resharper as anything to do with it.
However as the visual studio can not add a reference to the project itself I'm sure this is a resharper issue in some way.
I will see if I find  some way to give you steps to reproduce the problem.

Andrey - thanks, your suggestion of simply clearing the resharper cache fixed the issue.

I'm having a very similar issue with Resharper 5.1.3, VS2008, and a webservice that Resharper won't recognize, even though everything compiles and runs fine.  The Resharper folder deletion fix doesn't work, but suspending Reshaper resolves the "cannot resolve symbol" issue.  I also had everything working after a repair/reinstall of Resharper, but the problems returned the next time I opened the project.  Any other suggestions?
